Welcome to the 21st Century

Students across the world, we are living and learning in times of expodential growth in information and technology. What a great time to be a student learning with the change that occurs all around us. The last 20 years have seen more advancements in technology then the rest of mankinds time on earth, and the next 5 years will see more development than the previous 2 decades. What this means is the creation and thought of ideas is constantly flowing, through your University in the classroom, and in your heads. The power of thought will drive the technological development of our generation.

I hope to open this blog for idea enthusiasts of all types. Whether innovators or nay-sayers, voice your opinion and let us know what you think.

Some thoughts about the growth of Information Technology and the World we live in today...

  • China will soon become the #1 English Speaking Country in the World

  • If Facebook were a country, it would be the Third largest country in the world by 200 Million

  • Facebook was started by a 19 year old college student in 2004

  • There are 31 Billion Google Searches a Month (Google was privately held until 2004)

  • The Ipod reached an audience of 50 million faster then TV and the Internet did

  • There are over 141 Million active blogs, 140,988,000 more than 10 years ago
  • There are 10 Billion more Itunes downloads then in 2000 (when there was 0) and CD sales revenue has gone from $943 Million in 2000 to $427.9 Million in the same time period
  • There are 1,500 more clowns in 2010 then there were in 2000 (seriously...)
